About A Radiant Spectrum
A Radiant Spectrum helps families make sure every child—especially children with autism and other diverse learning needs—gets the education and support they deserve. We guide parents through the special education process, from understanding Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans to making sure the right services and accommodations are in place.
Founded by Nina Lewis (Gougis), an attorney and mother of an autistic child, A Radiant Spectrum blends professional expertise with personal understanding. We know how overwhelming school meetings, paperwork, and legal terms can feel, and we’re here to make it simpler, clearer, and less stressful.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is special education advocacy?
Special education advocacy is about making sure students with disabilities get the services, supports, and accommodations they need to succeed in school. An advocate helps families understand their rights, navigate the special education system, and work with schools to create or improve plans like Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or 504 Plans.
Advocates can attend meetings with you, review documents, explain laws in plain language, and help you communicate effectively with school staff. The goal is to ensure your child’s unique needs are recognized and met—so they can thrive both in and out of the classroom.
How do you support families?
We help families understand the special education process, speak up for their child’s needs, and work with schools to get the right supports in place. From reviewing IEPs to joining you at meetings, we’re here to make things clearer, less stressful, and more effective—so your child can thrive.
Who can benefit from your services?
Our services are for families of children with autism as well as children with other disabilities who need support navigating the school system. Whether your child already has an IEP or 504 Plan, is struggling to get the right services, or is facing challenges like behavior concerns or school transitions, we can help.
We work with parents who want guidance, advocacy, and resources to ensure their child’s strengths are recognized and their needs are met—at every stage of their education.
What is your approach?
Our approach is personal, collaborative, and focused on your child’s unique needs. We start by listening—getting to know your child’s strengths, challenges, and goals. Then we review school documents, identify gaps or concerns, and work with you to create a plan for moving forward.
We believe in building strong, respectful relationships with schools while firmly advocating for what’s best for your child. Every step of the way, we aim to make the process clearer, less stressful, and more effective—so you can feel confident your child is getting the support they deserve.
